The bathroom is one of the most common places for a slip or a fall, so a few well chosen aids can make a real difference to staying safe and independent at home. At Mobility Co in Cheltenham you can see and try a full range of bathroom and toileting aids, from shower chairs and stools through to commodes, mobile shower commodes and raised toilet seats. We help you match the right piece to the person, the bathroom and how they move, so it actually gets used rather than left in a cupboard.
Wet floors, standing on tired legs and getting up from a low toilet are the three things that catch people out. The good news is that each one has a simple, dignified fix. If a fall is a real worry, our guide to reducing falls at home covers the whole house, and an occupational therapist can help you work out exactly what your bathroom needs.
In short: Mobility Co supplies bathroom and toileting aids across Melbourne, including shower chairs, shower stools, bedside commodes, mobile shower commodes and raised toilet seats. See and try them at our Cheltenham showroom at 2/136 Keys Road, or call 1300 225 203. We work with NDIS, Home Care Package, Support at Home and private customers.
Shower chairs
A shower chair gives a stable, supportive place to sit while you wash, which takes the effort and the risk out of standing on a wet floor. Our Aspire shower chairs have back support and height adjustable legs with non slip feet. The Aspire Shower Chair Wide adds a broader, higher capacity seat for larger or heavier users, and the Homecare version suits comfortable everyday use at home. For anyone unsteady on their feet in the shower, this is often the single most reassuring change you can make. You can also hire a shower chair short term while you recover.

Shower stools
If balance is reasonable and you just need somewhere to perch and rest, a backless shower stool is compact and easy to move around a small bathroom. Our Aspire shower stools are height adjustable with non slip feet, so they suit a tight space or a shower over a bath where a full chair will not fit.

Bedside commodes
A commode is a portable toilet chair for beside the bed, or anywhere the bathroom is simply too far to reach in time. It is a real help overnight, or in the first weeks of a recovery when walking to the toilet is hard work. Our Aspire commodes come with your choice of an open or a closed seat, so you can set it up to suit the person using it.

Mobile shower commodes
A mobile shower commode is a wheeled chair you can use in the shower and also roll over the toilet, so one piece of equipment quietly does two jobs. Our Aspire weight bearing platform shower commodes come in a 460mm width, and there is a heavy duty 600mm model rated to 400kg for larger users who need extra strength and room. These are a popular choice where space and budget mean one well made piece has to cover everything.

Raised toilet seats
Getting on and off a low toilet is hard on sore hips and knees, and it is a common reason people struggle after surgery. A raised toilet seat lifts the height so it takes far less effort to sit and stand. Our toilet seat raiser comes with a lid, or with arms for extra support to push up from, which many people find makes all the difference.

Cannot see what you need? We can also source other bathroom aids such as grab rails, over toilet frames and bath boards on request. Tell us the problem you are trying to solve and we will find the right answer, or point you to an occupational therapist if a fitted solution is needed.
Why choose your bathroom aids with us in Cheltenham
Bathroom aids only work if they fit the room and the person, and that is much easier to get right when you can try them first. In our showroom you can sit in a shower chair, feel the difference between a stool and a chair, and check that a commode or raised seat is the right height. We work with occupational therapists and families across Melbourne every day, so we are happy to talk through the space, the transfers and the safest option, not just hand you a box. If funding is part of the picture, we can help you understand your options through the NDIS, a Home Care Package or Support at Home, and we support DVA clients too. Once you have chosen, we deliver around Bayside and the wider Melbourne area.

Excellent, highly skillful team who understand the specific needs of the disabled and elderly. The furniture is very well engineered and the team is able to explain how to use their chairs and beds in a way which supports the huge varieties in people's individual needs and body shapes. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

My grandpa recently bought an electric mobility scooter from Mobility Co in Cheltenham, and he couldn't be happier. He said the team was incredibly patient, friendly, and took the time to help him find the right mobility scooter for his needs and height. They answered all of his questions and explained the different options and what to look for and never made him feel rushed or pressured. Seeing the range of scooter options in the showroom made it easy for him and mum to find the right scooter. If you're looking for a mobility scooter in Melbourne, I'd definitely recommend visiting Mobility Co. The service was genuine, professional, and made the whole process easy for both my grandpa and our family.

Our family bought an adjustable bed and mobility scooter for my grandpa from Mobility Co and the whole experience was fantastic. Great showroom in Cheltenham, genuine advice with no pressure, and delivery and set up were sorted within days. Grandpa loves both, he's more comfortable at night and getting out and about again. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

We had an excellent experience with Mobility Co. Daylan was fantastic in helping my parents choose a mobility scooter, an adjustable bed, and a recliner. Nothing was too much trouble, and he truly went above and beyond to make the process easy for us. He even offered to bring equipment to us if getting to the showroom was difficult. When we visited the showroom, we were given plenty of time to try everything without feeling rushed, and the team made us feel very welcome by offering refreshments. The service didn't stop after the purchase. Daylan personally visited before delivery to check there were no access issues, and then came back afterwards to make sure everything was set up properly and to explain how to use the equipment again. The customer service was outstanding from start to finish. Daylan's kindness, patience, and genuine care made all the difference. We highly recommend Mobility Co to anyone looking for quality mobility equipment and exceptional service.
