In short: If a standard chair, bed, scooter or walker does not feel big enough, strong enough or comfortable enough, you are not imagining it. Most off-the-shelf equipment is built to an average size and weight. For larger or broader builds, what matters is the right seat width and depth, a genuine weight rating, and a motor and frame strong enough to last. We stock lift recliner chairs rated up to 220 kg, made-to-measure options, mobility scooters up to 181 kg, heavy-duty walkers up to 204 kg, beds built for the job, and wider shower chairs and commodes for the bathroom. Come and try them at our Cheltenham showroom, or book a free in-home demonstration. Call 1300 225 203.
Why a standard chair or scooter often is not enough
When someone is taller, broader or heavier, a standard recliner can feel narrow and unsupportive, a scooter can feel unstable or slow, and a walker can feel flimsy. It is not just about comfort. A weight rating exists for safety, and using equipment beyond its limit wears it out quickly and can be unsafe. The answer is not to squeeze into something too small, but to choose equipment sized and rated for the person. That is exactly what we help with.
Lift recliner chairs made to fit
This is where we can make the biggest difference. Rather than picking the largest chair off a showroom floor, the Configura Comfort is made to order, with the seat width, depth and back height set to suit the individual, and it supports users up to 160 kg. It has a powered rise to help you stand, tilt-in-space for comfort and pressure care, and a pressure-reducing fabric for people who spend long hours seated. If you need a higher weight rating, we also stock heavy-duty lift recliners such as the Aspire Montana X Maxi, rated up to 220 kg, and the Aspire Raphael X5, up to 190 kg in its largest size, both with a powered rise and a comfortable recline. If you have never found a recliner that fits properly or held enough weight, these are worth trying. You can read more in our guide to choosing a lift recliner chair that fits your body and our Configura Comfort family guide.

Adjustable beds with real capacity
For a good night’s sleep and easy getting in and out, an adjustable bed needs a base and mattress rated for the person, and the right width so there is room to move. We can match a heavy-duty base and a supportive mattress, and set the whole thing up in your home. See our guide to the best adjustable beds.
Scooters and walkers that hold up
For scooters, weight capacity, seat width, a stable base and a motor strong enough for the load and the hills all matter, and we stock models like the Pride Pathrider 140XL, rated up to 181 kg. For walkers and rollators, look for a genuine weight rating, a wider frame and a comfortable seat: the Aspire Genesis HD, for example, is rated up to 204 kg. Our guides to the best mobility scooters and best walkers and rollators are a good place to start.
Bathroom and toileting, built for more support
The bathroom is where good support and a genuine weight rating matter most, because wet, hard surfaces leave no room for error. For bariatric use, the standout is the Aspire 600mm Weight Bearing Platform Shower Commode, rated up to 400 kg with a wide, reinforced 600 mm seat, which works in the shower and over the toilet. We also stock wider shower chairs and stools such as the Aspire Shower Chair Wide, and for the toilet, an Aspire commode or a raised toilet seat with arms makes sitting down and standing up safer.

Wheelchairs and day chairs
For getting around, we stock heavier-duty wheelchairs such as the Aspire Evoke 2 HD, a strong folding wheelchair rated up to 190 kg with a wider seat that still fits in the car. For comfortable seating through the day, we also offer bariatric day chairs such as the Aspire Maxi Day Chair, rated up to 310 kg with a seat that adjusts from 600 to 810 mm wide and an anterior tilt for posture. Come and try what suits you at our Cheltenham showroom.

Excellent, highly skillful team who understand the specific needs of the disabled and elderly. The furniture is very well engineered and the team is able to explain how to use their chairs and beds in a way which supports the huge varieties in people's individual needs and body shapes. My grandpa recently bought an electric mobility scooter from Mobility Co in Cheltenham, and he couldn't be happier. He said the team was incredibly patient, friendly, and took the time to help him find the right mobility scooter for his needs and height. They answered all of his questions and explained the different options and what to look for and never made him feel rushed or pressured. Seeing the range of scooter options in the showroom made it easy for him and mum to find the right scooter. If you're looking for a mobility scooter in Melbourne, I'd definitely recommend visiting Mobility Co. The service was genuine, professional, and made the whole process easy for both my grandpa and our family.

Our family bought an adjustable bed and mobility scooter for my grandpa from Mobility Co and the whole experience was fantastic. Great showroom in Cheltenham, genuine advice with no pressure, and delivery and set up were sorted within days. Grandpa loves both, he's more comfortable at night and getting out and about again. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

We had an excellent experience with Mobility Co. Daylan was fantastic in helping my parents choose a mobility scooter, an adjustable bed, and a recliner. Nothing was too much trouble, and he truly went above and beyond to make the process easy for us. He even offered to bring equipment to us if getting to the showroom was difficult. When we visited the showroom, we were given plenty of time to try everything without feeling rushed, and the team made us feel very welcome by offering refreshments. The service didn't stop after the purchase. Daylan personally visited before delivery to check there were no access issues, and then came back afterwards to make sure everything was set up properly and to explain how to use the equipment again. The customer service was outstanding from start to finish. Daylan's kindness, patience, and genuine care made all the difference. We highly recommend Mobility Co to anyone looking for quality mobility equipment and exceptional service.
